Study Management

Homepage Overview

The homepage provides users with a comprehensive overview of all studies and their associated tasks. Users can access and manage their ongoing studies, track progress of tasks, and navigate to specific tasks within each study.

A list overview of all the studies is displayed along with the title, compound name, tasks and last updated time. Users have access to a selection of actions from the homepage:

  • New study: create a new study either from scratch or by importing an existing study file, commonly referred to as a .pumascp file.
  • Search: this allows users to quickly locate specific studies or tasks based on criteria such as study name, compound name or task name.
  • Bulk Actions: export or delete multiple studies at once by selecting the checkbox next to each study you want to export or delete and then selecting the appropriate action from the bulk actions dropdown menu.
  • Extend Session: the homepage includes the user's profile icon on the top-right, where users can find the remaining session time. By clicking on it users can extend their session time by 1 hour. This is applicable only on JuliaHub. Sessions do not need to be extended on the desktop version.
  • Get Help: from this dropdown users can either open up the documentation for the application, or open a support ticket to help resolve issues.

Study Creation Workflow

To begin using PumasCP you must create a new study. This can be done by either creating a new study from scratch or importing an existing study file. Click the New Study dropdown and either select Create new study or Import from file.

Create new study

When you click this option, you will be given 3 boxes to fill.

  • Study Name: the name of the study.
  • Compound Name: drugs on which the analysis is done.
  • Sponsor Name: an optional sponsor of the study.

Once completed click on Create + to progress to the study overview page.

Import from file

When you click this option, you will be prompted to upload a .pumascp file from your local system. Once the upload is complete the newly imported study will show up in the study list of the homepage. Click on the study name to progress to the Study Overview Page.

Exporting Studies

Studies can be exported to standalone .pumascp files, which can then be sent to other users as needed. To export a study, select the checkbox next to the study you want to export and click on the Export option from the bulk actions dropdown menu. The study will be downloaded as a .pumascp.

If you want to export several related studies together then select the checkbox next to each study you want to export and click on the Export option.
